College St Co-Op

For the last 6 months or so I've been displaying my work at the College St Gallery Co-Op. Basically, local artists chip in a small amount and in return we get a space on the wall to display our work. It's been a great experience, and I would highly encourage anyone who is even the slightest bit interested in creating art to join. For December, I've got an abstract, a few small robot paintings (One is an 8x10 for only $35!) as well as a variety of original pen & ink drawings, framed and available for $25 and under.

Each month we all bring in different pieces, so there is an exciting rotation of work moving through the gallery. Many artists are there every month, and soon enough you start to recognize familiar styles and techniques. You can stop in every 30 days and gradually watch and artists portfolio evolve, a few pieces at a time.

The prices are astonishingly affordable, you can get amazing original paintings and prints for a fraction of what a similar piece would cost in many other galleries. Buffalo has a truly vibrant arts scene, with a lot of passionate and talented people working very hard to perfect their craft. I consider myself lucky to be able to put myself in their company by participating in the Co-Op, and I encourage you to check it out whenever you have the chance. The gallery is located at 244 Allen St, and is normally open Weds-Fri 5-9pm Sat 2-8pm or by appointment at (716) 856-2839.
